We are a body of established professional visual artists (painters and sculptors) with diverse academic/informal backgrounds. The
Universal Studios of Art began its operations in 1981 and has since expanded in scope, leaps and bounds.
As a conglomerate of Art Studios in Nigeria, we have played the vanguard role of establishing and nurturing the now vibrant visual
art creative industry. Our strength and clear vision in this hitherto nascent sector of the economy right from inception, have been
exercised to create a pedestal of career excellence; first, in high professional output and also in raising professionals after our kinds.
So far, our testimony is the sprawling studios of 12 full-time sculptors and painters, 20 studio attaches and assistants, an
annual average of 120 student-trainees from Universities, Polytechnics and Colleges of Education nation-wide and an everexpanding
army of full-time studio artists who have passed through our peculiar programmes of mentoring. The full-time professionals
in their increasing number are the exciting height of our mentoring investment. Today, this number is positively affecting and
impacting lives and our society in different sectors of the economy - in and outside of the country.
Further to this, we organize Art Workshops, Fairs, Exhibitions and Consultancy Services within our limited resources. As operators of
professional practical Art Studios, we have operated and functioned purely from private efforts, doing what we enjoy doing
without assistance from government or the private sector. Albeit, we strongly believe and resolve to do more qualitatively.
